Collect Bottle Caps!

Everyday objects turned into art!  Every year at Art in the Park we have a collaborative art project that runs the duration of the festival. Any and everyone is welcome to participate in the art creation. Over the years we have produced some very impressive pieces. This year we are planning a collaborate project that begins immediately!  We are asking Caswell hill citizens to collect there bottle lids and caps of all sizes and colours. We will take collections at the Caswell Hill skating party and again closer to the time of Art in the Park.

Fall Street Sweeping

The City of Saskatoon is the process of completing a two-week fall street sweep to remove excess debris from the streets in neighbourhoods with heavy tree canopies, including Caswell Hill. The sweep helps to improve drainage on the streets, minimizing the risk of flooding when the snow melts in the spring.  Please observe the yellow “No Parking” sandwich boards posted around the neighbourhood.  For more information, visit Street Sweeping on the City of Saskatoon website.

Co-op Honours Caswell Community Association

It was a great time at the Westview Co-op Grand Opening!  There was a large crowd gathered outside in the sunshine on October 23rd to celebrate the Food Store’s opening and also to watch Caswell Community Association be honoured with a $90,000 cheque towards an accessible playground in Ashworth Holmes Park!  Thanks to everyone who came out to support us.  Bram did a fantastic job accepting the enormous cheque!  He was very poised in the spotlight and we were proud to have him representing us!  Raeanne Van Beek talked about how thrilled we were to be the recipients of such a generous grant, how excited we are to be working with the Co-op and City of Saskatoon on the project, and thanked the Co-op from the bottom of our hearts.

Fellow community members! Please join us at the Westview Co-op Grand Opening Friday, Oct 23 (today) at 11am. If possible we’d love to see you at this event for a public display of support for the playground in Ashworth Holmes Park. Caswell Community Association will be presented with a cheque from the Co-op Community Spaces program towards the playground.

This is a very generous donation towards an accessible playground that will benefit all the kids in our neighbourhood and surrounding neighbourhoods. So if you can make it, your support (and public show of appreciation for Co-op’s generosity) would be appreciated!!!
